White snowflakes swirling in the air, the atmosphere of winter descends on this

land. As Spring Festival, the most important traditional festival in China, is approaching, Center of Studies on Chinese and Foreign Cultures, jointly set up by School of Humanities, Pujiang University and Jiehua Commercial Center, will provide you with a good choice for vacation, namely a workshop of Chinese folklore and culture integrating study, survey and recreation.

This workshop, supported by the strong faculty of School of Humanities, Pujiang University and the fruits of studies on culture, history and philosophy, will invite senior experts and professors to give specific lectures on Chinese folklore, including Chinese food, folk customs, tea performance, wine culture, and appreciation of Chinese calligraphy and paintings. It will adjust the language of teaching according to students’ level of Chinese and English. Based on the teaching content, our center will arrange some field trips led by professional staffs, like tours to Beijing and Xi’an (ancient capitals of China in history) that give you a glimpse of time-honored Chinese civilization and those to Guilin and Kunming that help experience the life style of Chinese ethnic minorities.

The Workshop of Chinese Folklore and Culture, designed for foreign people in our city, is a short-term training class blending learning and pleasure that aims to help you understand Chinese traditions and folk customs through small-scale teaching by professionals and field trips combining study and survey. Not only will it enable you to indulge yourselves in travelling but also feast your eyes on the splendid traditional culture of the Chinese Nation. As the saying goes, “One should read ten thousand books and travel ten thousand miles.” And you can just make it within three weeks.
