Translation is like a bridge which is sided by different climates and various landscapes. The bridge is flanked with stiff hills and dales, winding through perilous twists and turns. People on each side devoted to their own business for generations and formed respectively a series of different customs as well as languages and cultures.

One day, people varied in cultures and customs suddenly wanted to attempt a conversation with people across the river. How should they do? In order to ferry across dales required the establishment of a bridge, who can start to build up it?

Finally over there came a horde of volunteers, silly but sincere.

Those people asked them:” Do you know if you want to engage in this work, you must be endurable when confronting difficulties and be full of energy?”

They nodded and replied with confidence:” We are energetic and ambitious, and we won’t be defeated by difficulties.”

Those people continued to ask:” This work can’t provide you with good salary, which even needs being on the go day and night. Frankly speaking, do you realize the energy you dedicate to it may not conform to your gains of salary?”

They answered:” We do not intend to make a fortune.”

Then those people went on inquiring:” No one gets his promotion by doing this work, haven’t you known about it? Translation needs you contribute yourselves in secret. You’d better not to start if you plan to fish for fame and credit.”

Then they responded:” We do not intend to be famous.”

Those people sighed in the end:” All right! Since you fight for neither reputation nor interests, you shouldn’t reprove others not to admonish you that the work needs being operated carefully. The most important thing of starting to build up a bridge is the fundament of both sides should be firm, otherwise, a person will fall down in the deep abyss at the moment of getting on the bridge, and how can they reach the other side like this?”

The bridges were constructed, one by one. Knowledge is spread far and wide; cultures are exchanged hither and thither. Yet is there anyone can think of those people who established the bridges?
